The purpose is to help citizens, businesses and groups to make
and keep their neighborhoods clean, to promote waste minimization
and beautification, and to combat the root causes of litter through
education and behavior change.

KSB is basically a volunteer service organization to channel intetested people into ways to improve the community.

Keep Shelby Beautiful is a result of work done by the Shelby Appearance
Commission an advisory board of the City
of Shelby. KSB has a volunteer board of directors and the Appearance
Commission members are also members of KSB. Stan Anthony is the KSB board
chairman. Tommy Forney, Amusements Supervisor for Shelby
Parks & Recreation is the KSB Coordinator.
The KAB philosophy is to work to effect behavior change (get people
to stop littering as opposed to endless cleanup projects). The attitude

Keep America Beautiful is “reaching new heights” with a creative national outreach effort featuring KAB Man, a superhero for the environment and defender of natural beauty. The campaign launched with three Web-based animated films, viewable from www.kabman.org.
