New Web Resource Helps Teens Take Action

Keep America Beautiful has launched a new web site to help teens take action in their communities. The "Take Action" site, found at www.kab.org/takeaction, was launched this month and it provides tips and sources about teen volunteerism and community improvement.

"This is a way to support teens who want to do something of value in their neighborhoods," said Ray Empson, president of Keep America Beautiful.  "It will give them ideas and, through our polls, a voice directly."

The web site intends to be a way to give recognition to teen stewardship across the country, continued Empson. "It's important to have a platform for personal stories and we hope more and more teens will use the web site to get the word out about community improvement and contribute their own stories,"  he said.

In addition to links, ideas and personal stories, the site welcomes information about other resources. Comments or inquiries should be addressed to takeaction@kab.org.
